CATA MINING HITS THE GROUND RUNNING
In late 2016, GCA commissioned an automated FLSmidth Knelson KC-CD20 and an automated Consep Acacia CS250 intense leaching reactor – with a Consep EW250 electrowinning module – at CATA Mine in Musoma, Tanzania. The concentration equipment is part of a 40tph gravity and CIL gold recovery plant has had resounding success since operation commenced.
Since commissioning the gravity circuit has recovered 30-40% of plant feed gold, with Consep Acacia leaching and electrowinning efficiencies of about 98%.
During commissioning, GCA noted that the dirty water supply would have a serious negative effect on plant efficacy. Fortunately, our new range of FILTAWORX® self-cleaning water filters provide the perfect solution, and since installing one in mid-November, CATA have had no water-related problems with the gravity circuit.
GCA foresees a bright and gold future for CATA Mining, and is happy to have been part of the process that will make that future a reality. There is no greater pleasure for GCA than seeing our clients achieve success.
